  • Providers who participate in this network are referred to as “participating providers.” Participating providers are health care providers who have contracted with PreferredOne and agreed to make their services available on a nondiscriminatory basis. Participating providers are independent contractors and not PreferredOne employees. They are paid according to their contract terms with PreferredOne. These contracts may include financial arrangements such as bonuses, fee-for-service payments and amounts withheld. The contract terms are designed to promote patient satisfaction and the quality, efficiency and cost effectiveness of care. Please feel free to ask your providers about their financial arrangements with PreferredOne.
  • To maximize your benefits, you may be required to obtain a referral from your primary care provider before accepting services from another provider. If your benefit plan includes this requirement, it will be stated in your enrollment material. You may also obtain this information by calling Customer Service.
